If this person was already a witness it is obvious that higher education did not cause her to leave the Borg. Either way, a stupid example. -Leslie-

Would this Sister's name be Andre(a) by any chance? LOL
I find it interesting that this person had years of higher education and still became a witness. So...if someone with higher education comes into "the truth" why the fear of higher education for Jdubs? This is a very contradictory experience to use IMO. my 2 cents. Leslie

Jehovah's Witnesses cease to exist before the year 2000
by rory-ks inseptember 1st, 2012, can be marked down in the theocratic calendar as the day the watchtower bible and tract society marched shamelessly into the 21st century.
on that day, jw.org, official website of jehovah's witnesses, went live, and with one strike the organisation put a match to its past.. .
seek out the society's online library, its searchable database of publications, and you will soon see that it has only made available literature published since the year 2000. inclusion of the generic work, insight on the scriptures, is of no consequence.

They STILL might be DFing me soon for apostasy...
by RayPublisher inbig news - i met with the elders last night.
they were not arrogant and they were not mean spirited, but of course we all know they also would not budge from the jw brainwashed beliefs they are sworn to uphold.
i let my light shine, and within two minutes of sitting down with them was no longer nervous.. .

WOW! You have my admiration for your courage to present the information to them so honestly. I am surprised you did not get the boot then and there. Perhaps the elders want to look up some of the things you said. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Maybe, just maybe you were able to reach at least one of them and they will see the light also. Best of luck. Leslie

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 09-09-2012 WT Study (GOD/FREEDOM)

Thanks once again Blondie for the review. I had to laugh at the 1st sentence about Jehovah not micro-managing his servants. If they only would have quit while they were telling the truth. The WT is no different than the Pharisees. There are so many stupid rules from the GB & then individual congregations seem to have added rules in varying degrees of ridiculous depending on where one lives.
I had never noticed when I was still in about the so-called good examples we should follow actually being very bad examples in reality, David, Solomon etc. Stupid Cult! Leslie

(Welcome Whoosier)
Economically about the same. Mentally and emotionally MUCH better off. The stress of trying to live up to unattainable standards is gone. No more forcing myself to go to meetings. Wonderful to have control of my life and sleep in on the weekends. Can get in my 'jammies' after supper and relax. ahhh, life is grand -Leslie-

Welcome Crystal: No need to downplay the trauma you have been through because you think others have gone through worse. You have a right to your feelings.( I learned that in therapy) You have been through so much but remember that you are a survivor. It takes strength to get where you are now.
Agree with other posters about getting out of your parents house. Unfortunately JW parents will feel it is their god-given responsibility to indoctrinate your son. The sooner you can get him out of that toxic environment the better. All the best to you and your son. I am also relatively new to the forum and it is a wonderful place for support. Looking forward to hearing more from you.Leslie

WTWIZARD: Thanks for your little story about your grandmother and the snake in the asparagus. You are very kind to the little creatures. As much as I hate them in the house, I have no desire to hurt them when they're outdoors. I accidently ran over one with the riding mower and actually felt bad about that. Maybe there's hope for me yet. As far as spiders go, the only ones I remove are the ones in the bedroom. I have been bitten on the face a few times in the past and awakened to an eye swelled shut.
Emptyinside: Nightmares about them too.
Scott 77: Thanks for the link. I will check it out in the daytime lol. I really want to get over my fear of them. There are some snakes that have exceptionally beautiful markings (crap why do those colorful markings have to be on a snake) I did a bit of research today about garter snakes. I have trouble looking at the pictures but perhaps if I learn more about them I will fear them less.
RIP: lol@ Kingdom Hall 'snakes'
Nancydrew: I can't understand why people want them as pets, but I guess to each his own.
Wannaexit: Yup, agree totally worst nightmare for me too. Have had nightmares about them since around age 5.
Keyser Soze: Sorry to burst your bubble of security but cities have snakes too. We have had stories here of people in apartment buildings finding a snake in their apartment after someone's pet escaped. But yes, you would likely have less of a chance of encountering them in a highly populated area.
Thanks all for your responses.Leslie
